The future of ReviewArtists and why you want to participate

by ReviewArtists on March 30, 2011

When we first started the site well over 6 years ago it was simple, very simple. Every month we ran a contest allowing fans to vote for their favorite artist; 1 out of 4 choices, hand selected by us. While we didn’t expect a surge in activity, we quickly learned we had a hit idea. The popularity became so big our shared hosting couldn’t handle the traffic – over 310,000 page views in a month we were able to hit.

Since then we wanted to provide something with more value and thus created a blog structure. While we’ve gained a level of readership that has quadrupled in 8 months, there is still a collection of missing functions from what we originally intended to provide.

What’s in store?

Simplicity – The new site is going to expand to combine a social aspect giving artists a place to send fans, but without the complications of many current websites.

Engagement – What good is it to allow people to listen to a couple songs but not receive feedback at the same time? You’ll like our approach and simple concept.

Value – We’re playing the game to give you exposure, both artists AND writers, as well as allowing fans to give their opinion.

_____ – There’s one last part of this that anyone who participates by being an artist, writer or fan, can benefit from…and we know it will be a big hit. Stay tuned!

We’re looking forward to providing a great environment for music lovers, artists and passionate writers to continually engage.
