STRFKR, also known as PYRAMID also known as Pyramiddd also known as and pronounced as Starf***er also not to be confused with the band from Belgium under the same name, is a band from Portland, Oregon. The band is comprised of Joshua Hodges, Ryan Biornstad, Shawn Glassford, and Keil Corcoran, all contributing and playing an assortment of guitar, keyboard, drums, turntables, and vocals. This electronica band makes use of hazy vocals and energetic bleeps that stop you in your tracks to make you wonder, “who are these guys??” right before you get pulled into their dance craze.
You’ll notice the multiple band name changes. That is because the band was started as a project by Hodges in his bedroom, which he never thought would get national attention. And then their song “rawnald gregory erikson the second” was featured in a Target commercial. And then the names changes just got confusing because they were already known as Starf***er, thus the final settlement on STRFKR, so far. They tried to play it safe with the name, but it still doesn’t keep them from dressing in drag for their concerts, which you can catch because they are currently on tour.
