At the 64th Tony Awards, which aired on June 13th, handed out two awards to an unlikely group of winners, Green Day’s “American Idiot† won for Best Scenic Design and Best Lighting Design. It was also nominated for Best Musical but lost to “Memphis.” Green Day however did rock the show, which was held in New York City, playing a tease of Boulevard of Broken Dreams and then going right into Holiday.
