As you all know, Adam Lambert’s performance on the AMA on Sunday November 22nd was more than anyone expected; raunchy to say the least. It involved Lambert making inappropriate gestures to a male keyboard player and dragging a female dancer around by the ankles while performing “For Your Entertainment,” a song with a sexual edge. It was so controversial that ABC’s show “Good Morning America” canceled his appearance, with the intent that Lambert might do something crazy.
Here is an interview with “ET” Entertainment Tonight with some footage from the rehearsal performance.
There is a lot of controversy over whether the actual performance was too racy. As the media gave it more attention, it became clear that most were shocked and appalled and were curious what Lambert or his manager was thinking. Some are questioning whether the bad press that he is receiving is a double standard, since female artists of the past (Britney Spears, Madonna) have been guilty of similar acts. Is Lambert being solely judged because of his sexual orientation or were his actions truly inappropriate?
