Chances are you’ve heard of Twitter, and if you haven’t…let this be the start of your Twitter experience.
First off, what is Twitter?
To put it simply, Twitter is a microblogging site where you share “what you are doing†with readers (and the public if you so choose). Very similar to the “status update†that Facebook familiarized with millions of people, Twitter is primarily based on the same “status update†feature.
Off the bat you’d think “Why would it be time worthy?†and the answer is, that’s purely based on how you use it to your advantage. Using Twitter is not just about posting updates or “Tweets†but more about the social interaction between you and other users (including followers).
Why use Twitter?
It’s a great social media medium that is easy to use and is perfect for relationship building. As a band, you want (need) to connect with your fans. Twitter lets you say what you’re doing, share news, reply to other twitter users and much more. When you’re on the road, you can easily ‘tweet’ or ‘update’ via text messages! Or for those with smart phones, you can install Twitter apps which make it even better.
